This video, posted to YouTube by my co-worker to raise money for an AIDS bicycle ride she’s doing this summer, is a great example of a worthy project inspiring creative activity.
In her case, all she did was take a good idea, round up a couple of her friends, raid her treasure trove of collectible toys for costumes and a set, and shoot the video with a webcam and edit it on a consumer-level editing program.
For me, this little clip works for its intended purpose–to make people laugh while raising awareness about the AIDS ride and the pandemic’s continuing impact on our planet.
Enjoy the video. While you’re at it, can you think of any projects (recent or past) where a compelling goal has inspired you to do great creative work?
